Hey everyone,
Two "official" things that I wanted to let you know about.
First, I mentioned last week to check your email about a special event that was happening. Well, I finally sent the Evite today - my LOST finale party is on! Now this may mean I'm a jerk, but I only sent it to those that I know still check the blog and that I'm pretty sure still watch LOST. If I left you out and you want to come, you are more than welcome to join us!
Evite says you can make a link for an invitation, and I followed all of their directions repeatedly, but I can't seem to get it to work; I wanted to post it here. If you send me your email, I can add you to the invite list so you can get the invitation.
And secondly, we knew this day would come, unfortunately: the finale is a wrap.

I also heard that they are re-airing "Pilot," the groundbreaking LOST premiere, on May 22, the night before the finale. I'm not sure about the time.
Remember, there is no new LOST this week, but they are re-airing "Ab Aeterno" in it's regular time slot (I'm assuming). I'm hoping it's the "pop-up video" enhanced version, but we'll see.
I hope this post finds you all well.
Until next time,
Namaste & Good Luck,
~Matt

OK, one thought I have had since the last episode is that the writers of lost seem to be star wars fans. they seem to have a theme, like star wars, that unresolved grief is the path to the dark side. Maybe it is the therapist in me, but perhaps the "sickness" is actually something self imposed by the prospect of having what you lost given back to you, as if it ever really could be. such as Sayid getting his love back, or Claire getting the years back with her son that she lost. This would be instead of doing the hard work of the grief process. what we are learning is that short cuts lead to no good...Melis
So funny that I finally read this today, because I was watching "Star Wars - The Legacy Revealed" (...again...) on Discovery? History? Anyways, it's about how Star Wars melds all of these classic Greek myths, religious symbolism, and historical references (as if you and I didn't know that already), but the show is very concise in explaining all of it. It gives me a new appreciation for the more recent movies, even if they weren't all that well done.
Several of the writers are admitted HUGE Star Wars fans - in fact, check out the current background of Damon Lindelof's Twitter page!: http://twitter.com/DamonLindelof (Can you make out what the picture is?) All those lines that Hurley has (the one about Anakin last week, trying to write Empire Strikes Back last season, etc.)
It's my firm belief that the flash-sideways are what the Man In Black has offered or will offer each one of the Losties if they choose his side. It's a devil's bargain, quite literally. Nadia is alive, but she's married to Sayid's brother. Jack broke the daddy-issue cycle with his son, but he's still divorced and will never be able to reconcile with his own father, Hurley has good luck but his father is out of the picture, too. Sure, the devil can promise to give you what you want, but not in the way you intended. And that will leave you just as wanting.
In terms of what it all means, as in what the writers are saying about all of these issues, is one of the things I'm most interested in seeing and thinking about after the finale.
