A Dilemma

It's out there.

The first four minutes of the Season 6 premiere is out there.

Should I watch?

Here's the thing: I am spoiler-free. I don't want to see, hear, taste, smell, or touch anything that will give me a clue about Season 6. (Well, it's not that I don't want to. I have come so close to cheating so many times...) I just don't want the impact of any surprises to be, well, lost. I want to watch the way nature (i.e. the producers) intended.

But the first four minutes were released officially, to 815 lucky people who won a trivia contest. (Yes, I entered. No, I didn't win.) They received a "message in a bottle" that included a USB drive that is a replica of Desmond's Swan Station failsafe key.

When the winners popped that baby into their computer, they were treated to four minutes of the opening scenes of Episode 6x01.

It's official. It's from ABC. It's not technically a spoiler. So should I watch? Will it ruin the experience of watching on Tuesday night? I mean, it's only four minutes. But it's the first four minutes, the four minutes that will probably answer what we've been wondering for nine months: did they erase their pasts (or future, depending on which time you consider them to be in)?

For Jacob's sake, it's out there! How can I not watch?! But I can't. Can I? Should I mention that I really, really, really, really, really, really want to?

I am so dedicated to watching the show, again, the way it was meant to be seen. I never watch from the middle. If I miss the first five seconds, I don't watch, and I wait until the DVR is finished recording. That's right, I don't even rewind, because what I missed would pass in front of my eyes, which defeats the purpose of rewinding. (Maybe I could try closing my eyes...) Anyways, this is a tough decision. It's out there officially, but it's also not Tuesday night, February 2, 2010, at 9:00pm EST.

What do you think?
